December has been an exciting time here in our classroom. In addition to all our usual activities, we have added some special projects. We have enjoyed learning about Advent and have made a  beautiful Advent Wreath together. It has  also been fun creating Nativity Scenes and Angels. We have also been practicing for our upcoming Christmas Concert.

We have been busy making turkeys and  learning about the first Thanksgiving. It was wonderful to meet with you and to share all the children's work during our conferences. I am thankful to be your child's teacher this year. I hope you all have a very blessed and joyous Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed learning about pumpkins this week.  We loved finding out how they grow, read stories about them and used orange paint to create pumpkins for a pumpkin patch in our classroom. We also learned the rhyme Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater.

Halloween Parade

Our class will be joining the kindergarten-third grade students at our school for a Halloween Parade on Thursday October 31st at 1:15 pm.  Morning students will return to school at 1:00 pm in their costumes.  Full day students will need to bring their costumes to school with them in the morning. Please have your child's costume in a bag labeled with his or her name. We will have a party after the parade and all students (except those attending our CARES program) will be dismissed at 2:30.

Hello October!

This was a fun week as we welcomed our new month of October. We learned about apples, how they grow and all the delicious things that are made with them. The children enjoyed making apple prints by using  apple halves and paint. We also began learning the beautiful prayer Hail, Mary. We practiced writing our names and wrote the letter Aa in our handwriting notebooks.
